No gatekeeping

After a decade of running Function & Form, I did something I never dreamed I'd do:

I stepped away, and became the Creative Digital Director at Wanderlust Travel Media.

I won’t sugar coat it, 2024 had been tough. But what was a difficult decision, turned out to be one of my most valuable. Working in-house has given me a new perspective on how agencies are seen and how essential they can be. You really can’t read the label from inside the jar – The right external partner helps you see objectively, stay informed, and grow.

But I also saw what happens when you work with the wrong agency...

Overcharging and underdelivering, confident that by gatekeeping their tech, Wanderlust were locked in. It’s a business model built on dependency, not trust and it’s everything I stand against. I was reminded why I built Function & Form in the first place.

My time at Wanderlust has been space to reset, giving me a renewed vision to rebuild with intent.

Therfore, I’m relaunching Function & Form, on the belief that our job as an agency is to build for our clients future – a future they can trust. No gatekeeping. No smoke and mirrors. Just branding and web systems that genuinely help businesses grow and adapt.

I have so much gratitude to everyone at Wanderlust. They trusted me to take a pivotal role at a critical point in their digital transformation. And it’s not over – I’m resigning as an employee but they have chosen to become a client.

What changes now is focus…

As their agency partner, I can step back and do the work that often gets crowded out in-house: building stronger technical and creative foundations and making smarter long-term decisions.

I leave Wanderlust with huge respect, a fresh perspective, and a renewed sense of purpose.
